Jasmine and Vicky basically spent 50 minutes chatting aimlessly about everything from Blue Ivy’s hair to media representation to Orange is the New Black to misandry/the red pill to online dating and more. We basically went completely off the cuff, so apologies for the frenetic nature of this episode. We’ll be back in July with more structure, but we hope you enjoy our little gab sesh!

It’s the 6th episode of the podcast! In this ep, we’re covering a few of the black girl struggles - coming to terms with our blackness, navigating white spaces, dealing with fetishizing men, rejecting the idea of the undesirability of black women, and more. Not that I’m at all unbiased, but I’m in love with this conversation, and I hope you all enjoy it!

So I just looked at our stats and, quite frankly, this episode was totally slept on.

The seventh episode of the podcast is here! In this episode, we discuss mental health, white supremacy (including how Eurocentrism even in maps warps our perception of the world), and the relationship between the two. We also get into Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome, question the racialized empathy gap, roll our eyes at  ”new blackness”, express concern over what the next generation of black children may have to endure as they grow up in our increasingly faux post-racial world, and more. (Disclaimer: there is discussion of suicide and various mood disorders throughout).

It’s the fifth episode of Blackwashed! Listen to us as we deconstruct conceptualizations of masculinity via Nicki Minaj, the Michael Dunn trial, menstruation, and more. (Warning: we use more than a little crass language).

PS, Jasmine’s mic was possessed so forgive her for sounding like she was in a wind tunnel on the AT&T network circa 2001.

Third episode of the podcast is up! We discuss colorism - our personal experiences, how it’s perpetuated, and who perpetuates it. We also swoon over Idris Elba and Lupita Nyong’o. Warning: there is some explicit language!

YO! Finals are over for everyone, right? So now you have all the time in the world to bask in the glory of the most recent episode of the podcast. We’re on hiatus until January, but allow the dulcet tones of our archived voices fill the tiny little void we’ve left in your heart.
